Outward Focus:

One of the founding principles of Soma Church is to heed the Biblical call to fight for justice and to take care of the poor and oppressed in our own community and to “the nations”.

Our particular area of focus outside of Southern California is in those nations where the Gospel is the most neglected. This generally refers to Muslim nations in the 10-40 window but also includes a hand-full of nations outside of this window. We are just beginning, but at this time we are very happy to already have partnerships in Israel where Christians’ lives are in danger and where it is illegal to share the good news about Jesus.

South County Food Box Ministry

The final Saturday each month is our food box ministry aimed at providing food to the many impoverished families here in South Orange County. Our focus community is the area around Gates Elementary School but our desire is to provide assistance to as many who are in need as we can possibly help. 




INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS


Atfaluna Society for the Deaf. This group brings education and hope to this often neglected segment of the population. The Christians leading this organization are fulfilling the commands of Jesus to “love the least of the brothers of mine (Matt 25)”. Even more difficult is to live the ways of Jesus in this area of the world controlled by the Radical Islamic Group, Hamas.


Friends in the West Bank

In conjunction with a grassroots group called “Marmalade Ministries”, Soma supports the Al Basma center for Special Education in Bethlehem.


Hope Secondary School in Beit Jala is a prepratory school for orphaned and disadvantaged boys and girls as well as a new sub-group of disabled students.
