Children are held in high esteem here. We believe that real discipleship to children happens at home but we also know that we can assist in the process. Our highest priorities are for the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of our children. We want to create an atmosphere where children have a great time being together while being challenged to follow Jesus to the measure they are able at each age. In this process, we will do everything we can to ensure their safety and health.

Children

Kindergarten -5th grade

Our younger kids currently meet during our Sunday gatherings learning in an interactive setting that reinforces Soma’s commitment to making Jesus a part of normal life (missional living) and not a separated, “spiritual” segment of life. Our teaching times are specifically constructed to help children develop the skills of talking about Spiritual things in hopes that these skills can be utilized by our parents throughout the course of the week.

Kindergarten through 5th grade usually join the main gathering during part of our worship time and then head back to their own groups. Presently, 6th graders also meet with the younger kids but are used as “junior helpers”.

Pre-School

We love our babies and pre-schoolers at Soma. These ages meet together each Sunday during our main gathering. Their program is designed as an interactive and fun time of playing together and as a place where they are introduced to basics such as prayer, Bible stories, and caring for others.
